Nottingham & East Midlands Fibromyalgia Support
 

 

     What Your Group Does For You

Ø      We invite guest speakers for some of our monthly meetings.

Ø      We hold group symptom/solution swops.

Ø      We have an extensive library with items for hire at £1-00 per item per month.

Ø      We hold fundraising/awareness raising events in the community twice a year.

Ø      We attend the Fibromyalgia All Party Parliamentary group meetings held in London.

Ø      We produce all our own information leaflets for enquirers/professionals/organisations.

Ø      We provide 7 hospitals with fibromyalgia information.

Ø      We have accomplished fibromyalgia roadshows in rural areas.

Ø      We have attended the Birmingham NEC two day medical conventions for medical professionals in 2005, 2006 and 2007.

Ø      We attended the Nurses In Care conference at the NEC in November 2006.

Ø      We held a mini conference for professionals only in November 2006.

Ø      We produce our own website and 4 group news letter every year.

Ø      We lobby all Nottinghamshire MP’s regarding fibromyalgia regularly.

Ø      We lobby our MP’s to support the FAPPG---Fibromyalgia All Party Parliamentary group.

Ø      The FAPPG was a Nottingham group initiative.

Ø      We work with the national organisation FMAUK.

Ø      We provide a help line service.

Ø      We network with our fibromyalgia colleagues/groups in our region.

Ø       We attend the national group leaders meetings.

Ø      We have produced 3 Awareness conferences in Nottingham 2003, 2004, 2005.

Ø      Awareness in the planning for 2007 and 2008.

Ø      We attend networking sessions at QMC and City Hospital.

Ø      We attend training courses to help with all aspects of running the group.

Ø      We have the Regional Co-ordinator for FMAUK for the Midlands region working with us.
